MAY 2022 – A Honolulu City Council Transportation Committee hearing to discuss the Rail Recovery Plan is set for next Tuesday, May 24. We need your support to submit testimony today. Community feedback and your voice is needed to respond to the proposed revised plan.

Here’s what you can include in your emailed testimony:

I am “pro-mass transit”; however, I oppose the passage of Resolution 22-127 because I strongly believe that HART’s Revised Recovery Plan is significantly flawed.

This plan reduces both service and ridership. By “truncating” the rail, HART predicts that there will be a 16% reduction in riders. This is a major flaw in this plan and is why I urge you to reject this plan.

I ask that HART study utilizing the Lagoon Drive Station as a Transit Station and extending the Western Terminus into Kapolei as a more viable means of increasing ridership. With more riders, the burden of subsidizing Operations & Maintenance costs will be substantially reduced.
